Thanksgiving Fill-A-Box Food Drive

Looking for a Thanksgiving food drive in Tempe or the Phoenix area? Valley Gate Church's Fill-A-Box Campaign gives individuals and families an opportunity to provide Thanksgiving meals for families in need across the Valley.

Each Thanksgiving season, we come together to love our neighbors in a tangible way by collecting food, packing complete Thanksgiving meal boxes, and personally delivering them to families throughout our community.

What Is the Fill-A-Box Campaign?

We collect canned goods, boxed foods, and pantry staples to create full Thanksgiving meal boxes for families in need across the Valley. Once the boxes are filled, our teams personally deliver them—right to the doorsteps of those who need it most.

It’s more than a meal. It’s hope, dignity, and a reminder that no one is forgotten.

Why We Do This

Thanksgiving is a time for gathering around the table but for many families across our Valley, putting a meal on that table can be a challenge.

Fill-A-Box is our opportunity to step beyond the walls of our church and love our neighbors in a practical, meaningful way. Every box filled and every meal delivered is more than food, it’s a reminder to a family that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

We believe generosity is one of the ways we can put the love of Jesus into action. Together, we can help make sure more families in our community have something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

How To Participate In Fill-A-Box

Fill a box. Feed a family. Share the love.


1. Get the shopping list-Pick up a Fill-A-Box shopping list at Valley Gate Church or use the list below.
2. Shop for the items- Purchase the requested Thanksgiving meal items.
3. Bring your donation-Return your food donations to Valley Gate Church by October 18th.
4. Serve with us- Sign up to help sort food, pack Thanksgiving boxes, or deliver meals to families.

Stuffing Mix (6 oz box)
Gravy (.87 oz package)
Canned Green beans (29 oz)
Canned Corn (29 oz)
Canned Yams (29 oz)
Cake Mix (15.25 oz box)
Cranberry sauce (14 oz can)
Cake Icing (16 oz can)
Box of Mac & Cheese (24 oz)
